Samanathon.com is one of those blogs that is addictive, the type where you just have to return daily to see what’s going on.
Anyway i came across Saman’s blog thorugh JohnChow.com as Saman was a top commentator at that time. Here’s my little interview with him:

1.What is your blog about?
Samanathon.com is a technology site focused on Tips and Tricks, Hacks, Command Prompt Tricks and How To’s, with a few other non related categories like Cars, Comedy and Music - and my Heroes category is pretty popular! I really love writing Registry Hacks - Playing in the Registry is so dangerous but so rewarding!!
2.Why did you start your blog in the first place?
My site began life as a hub for my extended family to keep tabs on my family - like a meeting place to keep up with our news. I noticed that, the more I was blogging, the more I was writing tech centric topics! So I shifted the focus of the site and it seems to be working - there is a great community grown there, and I can’t tell you how happy I am with that! There are quite a few readers who have become regulars on my site.
3. How many blogs do you subscribe to (RSS)?
I currently have seven blogs in my reader, and I visit four or five more pretty regularly!
4. Name a couple of blogs that you read religiously.
John Chow.com, Lost Easter Eggs.blogspot.com, Pro Blogger.net and WordPress Development Blog to name a few. There are more that visit pretty often - especially my visitor’s sites, I feel that they took the time to be active on my site and I should return the favor. A lot of them are pretty good!
5.There are many blogging publishing platforms out there, why choose WordpPress?
Actually, I found WordPress via Wikipedia, I did a search and it was the first result. I love it! Each version gets better then the last - it’s great! The community is awesome too, if you ever have a problem or a question, there are alway people willing to help!
6.Name a few plugins for WordPress that you really like.
Well, I currently have 41 plugins installed!! If I had to pick a few, then: Google Sitemaps, WP Grins, Show Top Commentators, Viper’s Video Quicktags and Brian’s Threaded Comments.
7. Where/how do you get ideas for your blog post?
I have regular topics I talk about on certain days: Wednesdays I do my Speedlinking and Friday is for Friday Grooves. On the weekends, I usually post funny videos. For the rest of the week, I focus on providing the core content for my site: Hacks and How To’s. Somehow, I got to the point where I’m adding two to three posts a day! I don’t know how it happened, but my readers seem to enjoy it and there are new readers everyday so I guess this format is working!
8.Two, Three or Four column WordPress theme, which would you prefer and why?
I started with a two column theme, then another, and now I use a three column design. As my blog has grown, I needed more room for all of the content! The three column theme is not as clean and I would like, but there is a ton of content on every page!
** A personal message from Saman:
I wanted to thank all of my readers - without you all, my site would be nothing like it is now! I really appreciate you all, thanks for all of the comments and for making my blog a success!
**Interviews:
Basically my selection of bloggers to interview mainly boils down to what powers their blog, if they are using Wordpress than odds are they will be interviewed one day or another, I’m always on the lookout for bloggers to interview so if your a Wordpress user please join my community and chances are you might be next on the interview list.
