It’s so easy to add polls to your blog these days, with wordpress you can achieved that with a plugin by Lester Chan called the WP-Polls, or you could use a third party service like PollDaddy
With PollDaddy.com it is easy as pie to create a poll, the poll below took me just 3 minutes to create including the sign process!.
After signing up you are brought straight into the admin panel where you can create a poll in about a few minutes, the first step involves you setting your questions, answer options and other misc option as shown below:
Options
Multiple Choice
Allow your voters to enter more than one answer.Allow ‘Other’ Answer
Allow your voters to enter an answer of their own.Block Repeat Voters
Don’t block repeat voters
Block by cookie (safest)
Cookie & IP address(Note: cookie & IP address may cause problems for multiple voters on same network)
Make Poll Public
Your poll will be entered into our poll directory.
In your next step after setting up all those option is where you can either create a custom style or choose from 14 available styles (skins) by PollDaddy. The standard skin is the White Plastic skin, but for my poll below i opted for the Manga skin.
The 3rd and final step is where you will be presented with the choice of using either Javascript, Flash or a Direct Link for your poll (embed on your blog),I chose the Flash code.
As for me right now I don’t really create a poll regularly for my blogs but if you are planning to create polls every other day that you should take advantage of PollDaddy’s Widgets. This will save you having to change your website or blog HTML, each time you want to display a poll.
