Anyone can install a Wordpress blog quickly using a service called Fantastico (comes with Cpanel). Fantastico? What’s that? Well, it’s a program that allows you to install a number of services for your website, such as a shopping cart, forum, or a blogging platform like WordPress. In this case, we only want to use Fantastico to install WordPress.
One thing, though: Your web host needs to have Fantastico. Fortunately there are many hosts that come with it, such as A Small Orange, BlueHost, and Midphase. A Small Orange is a great choice if your bandwidth needs are modest.
How to install WordPress using Fantastico:
1. First, log into your web host’s control panel and look for Fantastico. It will probably be listed under a section for software and/or services. Look for Fantastico’s logo, a blue smiley face.
2. When you’ve loaded up Fantastico, look to the left sidebar for WordPress. WordPress should be displayed under blogs. Click it.
3. Enter an admin user name, password, and email account password. Everything else is optional and can be updated later on. The user name and password are what you’ll need to access your WordPress blog later. Make up an email account password and don’t worry about it. The email settings are only useful if you plan on updating your blog with email.
4. Click on the “Install WordPress” button. You will be taken to another screen that will give you a brief summary of the installation details. Click on the “Finish installation” button to conclude it.
And hey presto: Fantastico will spew out a short message about the successful installation, then provide a link that will take you to the WordPress login screen. The URL for logging into your blog will just about always be http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin
That’s all there is to it!
If you need a good hosting provider with Capnel and Fantastico, i would recomend HostGator or HostingZoom
