The list of methods for making money online with blogs is endless and the amount of blogs that address making money online with blogs is also endless. The basic concept behind making money online with websites and blogs is completely predicated on your ability to generate traffic. Users create a blog based on a popular topic that they have some familiarity with, and update it regularly with subjects of interest, paying special attention to the niche of the blog. While the concept may sound simple, the continued updating process can be difficult to maintain over extended periods of time. The first steps involved in building a successful blog include choosing the right niche. A niche that receives a lot of search traffic but it has very little competing content on the Internet will provide plenty of search traffic from organic search engines, versus the less plentiful search traffic from subjects that have tremendous amount of content competing with your website on the Internet.

Once the niche has been chosen, the blogger has to fill the blog with content, keeping in mind that keywords and key phrases have to be placed in sufficient density throughout the website. Generating content that has value and maintains the interest of the reader on a consistent basis is a very difficult task for even the best writers, and this is the number one priority for commercial bloggers and webmasters. Search engines such as Google base their relevant indexing algorithms on available text content on the Web. By supplying your blog with a wealth of content, you are supplying Google with plenty of information about your blog. This keyword and key phrase content is very important and must be updated regularly in order to maintain the interest of both the readers and Google, as well as other web-based search engines.

Once a sufficient amount of content has been generated, paying careful and considerate attention to the amount and frequency of keywords and key phrases based on the niche topic of the blog, the commercial blogger can focus on promoting his or her commercial blog. Submitting the website to search engines is an easy first step, but the devil is in the details, as bloggers must put in extra effort submitting their site to directories and blog carnivals as well as taking extra effort to gain the exposure for their site. A good way to build your blog rank with Google and other web based search engines is to build significant and relevant back links to your website from other websites that feature similar content. Google establishes rank based on the amount and quality of websites that lead back to the indexed site, as based on the latest Pagerank update this blog has moved from a PR of 3 to 4, i’m not too particularly happy with the small leap but it’s better than 3!.

After sufficient traffic has been generated on a regular basis, you can choose advertising and the affiliate content that serves to convert incoming traffic into paying customers. Pay careful attention to the affiliate program and the products that they offer, as using a subpar products will give you and your blog a tarnished image on the Internet.
