I received an interesting email enquiry today, someone wanted to know what wordpress theme i was using on my other wordpress powered site - Flickrville.
Flickrville by the way is my photoblog but the big majority of photos are not mine they are from the popular Flickr.com, flickrville is gallery that displays all the cool, exciting, interesting photos found on flickr, the site started out just as a hobby of mine but it has grown above my expectations and now has at least 500+ RSS susbcribers, i guess people like viewing great pics, plus i’ve set it up so that the RSS subscribers get to view 40 pics (posts) from their RSS readers.
Ok, back to the theme, Flickrville is using the Tiny Mod theme (1 column theme!), most wordpress would have spotted it but if you haven’t than at least now you know.
As you can imagined i’ve tweaked the theme quite a bit, i have changed the width of the theme, the header and logo, the colours of the text (via CSS), the search bar is at the bottom, used an image for the background, i’ve added the flickrRSS plugin as you see now on the top, added the Ultimate Category Cloud plugin at the bottom (just above the MyblogLog) and some other minor modifications here and there.
The reason i’m sharing this is to show you that it is so possible to change the look of a theme, you can keep the original structure but completely change the graphics or you can tweaked the CSS to your hearts content, with that being said you can also check out my themes and modify them to your liking, and for those that are interested keep an eye out for my new theme coming out soon.
