Adii or you might know him as Adriaan Pienaar has graciously made available a copy of his Premium News Theme available for readers of this blog, in fact i was suppose to post this last week but a combination of me being busy and a the passing of a dear relative has led me to post this now instead.

The Premium News Theme

Premium WordPress themes are on the rise, i’m sure by now you have seen many mushrooming over the past few months, in fact i myself am about to release a premium theme but more of that in a later post.

After playing around with the theme (Adii gave me a copy) i must say that it’s a very well organized theme and the moment you upload this theme and use it you will realize that a lot of thought and work has been put into the creation of this theme, and though $99 might be a steep figure for some i assure you it’s worth it.

The thing i like about this theme is the “Premium News settings” page that you will see in the wp-admin/presentation tab, the page allows you to edit the theme and some other options without messing around with the .php files, a truly great feature for those who are not much aquainted with php or those who want the ease of managing most thing related to the theme from the admin page.

Here’s some of the things that you can edit from the “Premium News settings”:

Wordpress Version - select a version of WordPress your using (WP 2.2 or older/ WP 2.3 or Newer), wich basically means the theme is compatible on all current WordPress versions.

Theme Stylesheet - Change your theme’s stylesheet (dark blue,light blue, red, pink, default, green.)

Feedburner ID - Enter your Feedburner ID here.

Flickr URL - The theme comes Flickr ready so just insert your Flickr URL.

This are just some of the themes options, but not to worry because Adii even provides some tutorials for theme buyers.

According to Adii the theme is perfect for blogs and websites with the following characteristics:

* If you want to earn an income
* If you’re an ambitious blogger or online entrepeneur
* If you regularly add new content to your blog / website
* If your content contains a lot of photos, videos and other media
* If you’d like to run a magazine- or news-style blog

And from reading his latest post it seems that the sales of this theme is above his expectations, good news for him!.

This theme is definitely taking WordPress from just a blogging tool towards a CMS tool, and who knows what’s in store for the future as i’m sure he is going to create even more Premium themes.
