I can’t say that i am suprised by this move by WeblogToolsCollection.com to NOT post sponsored themes on their blog from now onwards, i have actually anticipated it since the “sponsored themes” post.

Mark Ghosh says there are a bunch of reasons for this decision and i respect his decision as every blogger has his/her own rights to do whatever with their blog plus WTC has an obligation to the wordpress community at large as their posts appears on every single wordpress installation (dashboard).

The question now is if this is the end of the sponsored wordpress themes as we know it? personally i think it’s far from the end, WTC is a good directory for themes but there are tons of others out there (this blog included) that will post/published sponsored themes.

Here’s some of the other sites:

Theme Viewer

Wordpress Wow

WPskins

BlogFlux

WPthemesfree

BloggingThemes

iThemes

Themez

Blogging Pro

Multiple forums, personal blogs, and more.

I kinda understand some reasoning behind the idea of not posting sponsored themes because a majority of these sponsored themes are rip-off of some other themes, poorly designed, etc.

As you might already know i do spend my time and money to release wordpress themes and my themes DOES contain sponsored link as it helps me make some $$ and keep this blog from being too ads cluttered and i will continue to release themes for the community in fact i am working on 3 new themes right now that will be released soon.
